This dam project consisted of remachining the face of a 108″ lower flange and boring holes in an upper flange. Total project time was 7 days, mobilization to demobilization. All equipment used was manufactured by CFS.
This MSIV project consisted of both the inboard and outboard sets of MSIV’s for a total of 8 valves. Work on each valve varied from just mapping, skimming and honing, to a full guide rib repair. Although this project did not consist of a seat repair, it is fully within our realm expertise.
Outboard MSIV’s
Alfa / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat, took skim cut on seat bore, machine the last 4” of the 6 O’clock guide rib (rib is ramped)
Bravo / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, machined seat bore to 23.052, skim cut and lapped seat, skim cut the last 4” of the 6 O’clock guide rib (rib is ramped)
Charlie / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat
Delta / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat.
Inboard MSIV’s
Alfa / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat.
Bravo / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, machined seat bore to 23.049, skim cut and lapped seat.
Charlie / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat.
Delta / Honed upper bore, mapped valve body, skim cut and lapped seat.
2 O’clock guide rib repair. We welded over the existing guide rib overlay and machined back to OEM specs.
Note: Delta is rolled 22-degress
Bonnet Mod’s / Outboard
Charlie / Removed the threaded stem bushing. Removed (4) yoke rods & drilled one out. Drilled and tapped (8) 2”-8 holes. Machine top of bonnet, (minimum clean up). Machine 4” off bottom of bonnet. Drilled out 1.5-8 eye bolt.
Delta / Removed the threaded stem bushing. Drilled and tapped (8) 2”-8 holes. Machined top of bonnet, (minimum clean up). Machine 4” off bottom of bonnet.
Bonnet Mod’s / Inboard
Delta / Removed the threaded stem bushing. Screw out two cut off yoke rods and drilled out the third. Drilled and tapped (8) 2”-8 holes. Machined top of bonnet (minimum clean up). Machine 4” off bottom of bonnet.
Charlie / Removed the threaded stem bushing. Screw out two cut off yoke rods and drilled out the third. Drilled and tapped (8) 2”-8 holes. Machined top of bonnet (minimum clean up). Machine 4” off bottom of bonnet.
Spring Plate, Spring Seat & Spring Spacer Machining / Outboard & Inboard
We over bored the yoke rod holes in (8) spring plates. Over bored the yoke rod holes in (32) spring seats. Over bored the yoke rods holes in (32) spring spacers

The work scope of this repair included skim cutting two seal faces, machining out two studs from the suction end, and a weld repair and machining of the stuffing box face and bore. read more…
