We have the ability to machine both flanges and gasket surfaces with studs in place or removed. From 2” up to 200” we can custom build to meet customer needs.

Onsite Stud Removal

At CFS, we have a variety of custom-made stud-removal machines that use various techniques including mechanical means and electrical disintegration. Studs are indicated in for accuracy, drilled and then bored to remove the stud without damage to the existing threads. Whether vertical, horizontal or in tight spots, we have the experience, manpower and equipment to support your job.

Onsite Pump Repairs

BFP’s, RCP’s, heater drain – any type of pump – any manufacture – CFS will bring the shop floor to your floor. We are not limited to boring and facing only. Complete pump machining is available and completed within OEM specifications. We also have a complete line of custom-built precision equipment for final machining where surfaces are pre-machined and weld overlaid (309 SS INCO) with our auto GTAW process for a quality weld.

Onsite Turbine Repairs

From flanges to gasket seats, CFS can restore them all to like-new condition. Our stud removal is fast and accurate with zero damage to existing threads and we also offer machining and lapping and bluing of horizontal joints, large or small.

Onsite Valve Repairs

CFS offers on-site valve repair including MSIV’s, control and throttle, Wedge gate, Swing check, Y-globe, flanges, gasket seats and more. Our seat repairs restore OEM conditions for your full confidence and we even have the capability to custom build equipment for the most demanding applications.

Portable Machine Shops

The CFS portable machine shops replicate in-house capabilities for in-the-field availability equipped with a milling machine, lathe, cutters, grinders and a vast assortment of tools. Our shops have been shipped overseas and used on-site during major outages for long durations and are especially suited for set up on turbine decks.

Portable Machine Shop specifications are as follows:

Requires 60 amp 480 volt 3-phase power

CNC Milling & Turning Services

Stationary Journal Machining

As part of our onsite capabilities, CFS offers Stationary Journal Machining that can be provided when rotating the shaft is not possible or would be cost prohibitive. With an impressive stock-removal rate per pass and a surface finish of 32 RMS or better, our machine is one of the very best in the industry.

Tooling Design & Fabrication

When it comes to specialized machining and welding needs, finding the exact tools and components can be a challenge. CFS has 30+ years experience designing and fabricating a variety of components for all industries. We at CFS have designed and built the vast majority of our field tooling for both our machining and welding applications. Our in-house engineering resources have the ability to design, reverse engineer and 3D model components as necessary.
